Welcome to Spotted Dog Art Group

Come and find your creative side!

At the heart of Beeston, and welcoming members from across Nottinghamshire, Spotted Dog Art Group is a vibrant community where creativity, friendship and wellbeing come together. Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the very first time, rediscovering a forgotten passion, or are an experienced artist looking to develop your skills, you’ll find a warm welcome here.

Art has the power to inspire, connect and heal. Taking time to create can reduce stress, improve mental wellbeing, build confidence and provide a valuable opportunity to slow down and be present. In an increasingly busy world, the simple act of making art offers space to reflect, recharge and express yourself, while sharing the experience with others who enjoy being creative.

Founded in 1995 by a small group of dedicated artists with a passion for learning and developing their practice, the Spotted Dog Art Group (SDAG) has grown into a thriving, volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation. More than thirty years later, that same spirit of curiosity, encouragement and artistic exploration remains at the heart of everything we do.

Our varied programme offers something for everyone throughout the year, including professionally tutored workshops, inspiring demonstrations, friendly evening meetings, outdoor painting sessions during the summer, and exhibitions celebrating our members’ work. Members also receive regular newsletters featuring group activities, local arts events and creative opportunities.

Above all, Spotted Dog Art Group is about people. It’s a place to learn, share ideas, make lasting friendships and enjoy the many benefits that creativity brings. Whatever your experience, style or ambition, you’ll find a supportive community that encourages you to grow as an artist while nurturing your wellbeing.

Come and discover the joy of creating, the confidence to try something new, and the inspiration that comes from making art together.
